WORK CHRISTMAS PARTY LOOK

Work Christmas parties are literally the bane of December's existence. What do you wear, especially if it's in the afternoon?

If you're lucky, like me, you have a work pal who shares your adoration for shiny things and sugar, so will dress up in sequins and eat sweets with you prior to the event, regardless of the fact it's only you two wearing sparkles. Fuck it, we're fab,

Someone made the mistake of putting a box of 'sweet shop favourites' in front of me and Lili...

Anyway, to create this look I did the following:

Moisturised with Clinique Superdefense

,

Applied GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer

Used my beauty blender to blend in

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Light Vanilla

Used

MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW15

on spots and under-eye circles

Pressed it all in with

MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder in NC5

Brushed out eyebrows and used a wet brush to fill them in - I use the contour colour from

Sleek Face Form Palette

Used the highlight colour and a dense powder brush on my cheek bones

Used the pale white and black shadow from

Sleek i-Divine Au Natural Palette

on eyes, with the

Bobbi Brown Matte Eyeshadow in Grey

on the outer corners and blended into crease

Used

Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara

(not that great but currently running low on others)

Lightly dusted MUA Blusher in Shade 2 on the apples of my cheeks, sweeping them outwards.

Darkened the beauty spots on my brow bone and cheek with

Topshop Freckle Pencil in Forever Young.

Finished with

MAC Ruby Woo

, my all-time favourite red lippy.

I can't find a contour colour that agrees with my skintone, so I just don't contour.

I washed my hair last night and threw a few curls in it with my straighteners. I always hairspay my curls before brushing them out to make sure they don't look

too

curly. I've worn my hair in a crappy loose bun sporadically throughout the day to make sure it keeps its messiness and make sure it doesn't look

too

clean.

I'm wearing a dulled gold and black vintage oversized sequin top which I've had for about a year. Think I bought it from Beyond Retro for about £30. I absolutely love it, I feel totally Gatsby in it.

Since it's an afternoon 'do, I'm just wearing a black

AllSaints Slip Dress

underneath with tights, socks and

Vagabond Dioon Lace-up Boots

.

RIGHT THEN, I'm off to eat many pigs in blankets and drink lots of wine.
